Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept outside material? How do I submit my songs to you?
I will accept material from artists/bands looking for a producer, but you should contact me first using this special production request form. Otherwise, your material is likely to be shelved.

What kind of material are you looking for?
All genres accepted except for hip-hop, rap, and heavy metal. I’m looking for strong songs (not necessarily strong musicianship on your demos) and a willingness to work hard to re-write/improve the material if necessary.

Please include:

  • Who wrote songs
  • Lyric sheets
  • What you’re looking for (goals)
  • How you see yourself as an artist (genre)
  • Website/Facebook/Myspace page URL
  • Phone Number
  • Email Address

Is it OK to send rough demos I recorded at home?
I welcome guitar/vocal and piano/vocal demos. Songs don’t have to be produced. Like listening to raw songs to hear what the artist sounds like without a lot of studio embellishment.

Who have you worked with in the past?
Hundreds of artists over the years. I’m currently producing singer/songwriter Nick Daugherty. For a full history, check out the About Mandi page.

How do I book one of your acts at my venue?
Please use the booking request form for all booking inquiries.

How do I get in touch with one of your artists?
For security reasons, I keep that information private, but if you are interested in a press interview, please use the contact form and indicate your website/ magazine/ radio/ newspaper affiliation. Be sure to include a contact phone number.

Are you affiliated with a distribution company?
I amcurrently working through CDBaby and digitally through iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, and Napster.

Can you come see my band play? Come on, we’re really good!
Sorry, I do not accept unsolicited requests from bands. I need to get to know you first. You can always friend me on Facebook if you’d like to be friends.

Where is your recording studio? Which do you recommend?
I work with several 3rd-party studios here in Los Angeles. There are many great studios to choose from that are well worth the price you’ll pay to rent them. My recent favorite is Sound Image in Van Nuys, CA.

Can you manage my band?
I am a producer — not a manager. For management tips, check out SongwriterToolbox.com.
